Stunning turqouise and orange colored fish. Peaceful. 3-4 ins. Will do well as a solitary fish. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

The platies will be going to make room for something better quite likely. I'm edgy about gourami's though, like i said, my last one killed a ram. |

For what he thought was H20, was H2SO4 |

Janna![]() ![]() Mega Fish Posts: 1386 Registered: 24-Aug-2003 ![]() | I wouldn't get congos. They need a school, like most tetras. The killi pair sounds good. Yes, some live longer than a year. The swim in the upper strata of the tank. Apheyosemion autrales are pretty commonly available and are really pretty! ![]() They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver, So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces. |

The beta would probably be fin nipped to oblivion, the paradise fish would eat my tetras (just did some reading), i find hatchetfish kinda ugly, gar are uh... way too big. I'm considering the congo tetras- they look very nice, but what are the schooling requirements? A pair of killifish would be another consideration, but I'm lacking a whole lot of info on them- are there ones that live longer than a year? Also, what range of tank do they swim? A velifera SFM might do well too, I'll look in to that. The emperor tetras look very nice, how are they for schooling needs, and how will they interact with my existing tetras? If anyone has any other ideas, please keep posting ![]() Also, I'm still looking for some info on keeping two female kribs together. [span class="edited"][Edited by 2004-08-16 02:08][/span] |

I'll be adding an angel later, but what I'm looking for right now is sugestions for a fish that looks more than, "just ok" Something with bright and complex colors, or a very unique shape. For size I'de say no bigger than 5 inches fully grown, and non-schooling. If there isn't anything that will work with these fish or the watter (soft, ph 7.4) I was considering another female kribensis. Will this work, or will I end up with a fight on my hands over teritory if I try to add another one now? [span class="edited"][Edited by 2004-08-15 04:58][/span] |

When in good condition, they are beautiful. ![]() ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Aquabid has some really really nice ones if youre willing to shell out a little $$. Maybe a gourami of some kind? Perhaps a sailfin molly male? How about a couple of Hatchetfish? Perhaps a Paradise fish or a pair of Killifish? They are awfully spectacular! Maybe a Gar (not sure if it would eat the platys). There are plenty of spectacular fish for a 33g tank that would be fine with your existing stock. Myself I would probably choose either a Gourami, Paradise fish, or a nice Betta. And all of these fish are juvies so they're real small- the tank looks empty. The idea is that the tetra schools are filler, as well as the two platies; they'll go as the other fish get larger. Also remmember that rams don't get very big; 3.5 inches at most. The bristlenose is only 2 inches, and the krib is maybe 2.5 right now, the platies maybe an inch or so each. I'm not trying to go inches per gallon or any bull like that, its just physicaly the tank looks empty, the nitrates are very low, and there aren't any problems socialy in the tank. That tank is pretty much stocked as it is. Stay away from the rope-fish, it would get way too big for that tank. |

But if you went with a female krib they may breed and if so I would say that there would be not enough room for territory. |
