I am going to start cycling it soon but i need some help with figuring out what kinds of fish to stock it with. I am going to buy some books soon but i was thinking of going with tropical semi-aggresive or tropical community. Just wondering if anyone had some advice or if they had anything that worked for them. THANKS ![]() |

Some people will tell you they can be mixed without any problems, I've done it successfully myself. But you'll be running a risk that your fish will not get along, and it isn't pretty. I say better safe than sorry. I'd go with a small school of tetras (maybe some rummies), a few zebra danios (very active & fun to watch), and a couple oto cats for algae. There are hundreds of combinations that will work, just make sure to research the species you're interested in. Good luck ![]() |

Maybe 2 schools. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Well planted and stocked with 2 dwarf gourami, 2 dwarf blue gourami, 3 chocolate gourami, 2 black skirt tetras, 4 bumble bee gobies (oh so cute), 2 kribs (male & female, 10 cardinal tetras, 1 bristlenose catfish. The kribs and bristlenose stay more to the bottom. The black tetras, dwarf and dwarf blue gourami, and cardinal tetra stay more in the middle to top of tank. Bumble bee gobies and chocolate gouramis go all over the place. All get on well. There are plenty of hiding places and caves made with bogwood and rocks. |
