Hi, I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to what I can add to my 33G tank. I already have: 5 odessa barbs, 3 cory sterbai, 3 gastromyzon mierzi, 2 cory aneus and 2 clown loaches.
Right now I also have 7 cardinals, but I'm getting rid of those, after almost 6 to 8 years I'd like something else then cardinals now.

I was thinking of getting 5 to 7 eye spot rasboras, I saw them just last weekend and I like them very much. And maybe 2 colisa chuna for upper level habitation.

But maybe somebody has another nice idea for a mid. and/or upper level fish to put in.

thanx in advance

Personally if it was my tank I'd fix the stock that you have already. I'd get the clowns into a larger tank, and increase the cory schools to 6each. Then depending on tank shape, nitrAte levels, ect I'd consider a small schooling like you suggested.

Clown loaches should not be kept in a tank smaller than 55 gal. They can grow to a good size. I agree with Babel about the suggestion of increasing the cory school and moving out the loaches. You might also want to turn this into a barb tank, barbs are beautiful you see.

Thanx for the replies,

I know the Loaches can get big, but I got them from my brother and I really like them so it's hard to part with them. (I even named them) (and I don't have space for a bigger tank )

I agree on the barbs they are beautiful fish and I like them, but I've had barbs already (I've had cherry barbs, checkered barbs, rosy barbs), and I'd like to try something else.

extending the schools of cories is not in my plans, I like ém very much, but I want some more fish swimming in the mid. and upper sections of the tank.

thanx again cu around

While keeping cories in groups of at least 6 is good, it's not a rule set in stone (which often causes arguments on the site). As long as yours are active, eating, growing and have good color you should be fine. I personally had a group of 6 pandas, lost 3 and the remaining fish are as active as they were in the larger group.

I definitely like the gourami idea, as well as rasboras. They have nice color, are peaceful, and are good schoolers. Since you've kept different types of barbs maybe you've also had tetras, but perhaps there's some sort of tetra you might like to try. Wander around the lfs to see what's available to you.
