Woohoo! I was keen on some taeniatus a while back, I ended up with rams instead but I still think they're great fish, and a nice change from kribs.

I was with him when he did SOME of his fish shopping. Got me a Ruby Red Peacock, which is quiet beautiful right now. Great time meating you Jason, but I am disapointed that i couldn't meet Phil.

Anyway, I'm taking danielle to A&E tomorrow, so I get to drive there, AGAIN!!

Great meeting you.

Racso, it was great meeting you as well I had a great time, though I wish Danielle could have made it as well. Phil is a great guy and has tons of nice looking fish...probably over 25 different breeding species of rainbows. I'm sure if you were interested, you could send him an email and go see his place. If nothing else, check out his stock list and see if there's anything you might want to buy. Also, you could always check out one of the GCAS meetings. You don't have to become a member to go to a few meetings.

I kind of underestimated the shovelnose...I thought I'd have to put it in a smaller tank to grow out a bit first, but it was large enough to go in my 150 with various small to medium cichlids. once it gets big enough to start eating some of these cichlids I'll most likely move it to my 125 which has larger fish in it. Just wanted to add that this guy is very graceful. I wasn't expecting that, but I really like this catfish. I'm very happy I decided to pick him up.

Just Beginning, he also had P. taeniatus 'Nigerian Red' but the 'wouri' adults he had were spectacular. The fry I got were rather small but I can't wait till they grow up. His pair of 'wouri' are F0 and he said they'd only spawn with soft water. the 'nigerian red' apparently didn't care about the water and would spawn in hard or soft water. He said all the 'wouri' fry he has raised have been in harder, higher ph water so I'm hoping these guys will be used to it by the time they grow up and spawn without the need for softer water. I guess time will tell.

thanks everyone I am very happy with these fish

Nice finds, Jason!

I myself just found an interesting Panaque species in a shipment of clown plecos.

Sorry for the crappy photos... He was in a really dark part of the tank and the camera couldn't focus on him.
