Has anyone tried this stuff? Next time I cycle a tank I want to use this. I have always used Cycle, but because that doesn't actually have bacteria in it, I'm curious as to how fast a real bacteria additive would work. And yes, I have heard about BioSpira, but Nitromax is more readily available right now.

Cycle doesn't have any bacteria? I thought it does.

I've used both the FW and the SW Nitromax.. Didn't have any trouble with it, but quite honestly I didn't see any amazingly fast results cycling with it either..

Made me feel more secure with setting up the tanks though, if that makes a difference for you..

Good Luck with it..

Personally if you're talking about cycling again, it generally implies that you already have a cycled tank....IMO it's just easier (not to say cheaper ) to use your cycled tank to seed the new one.

*shrug* maybe I'm just old fashioned.

I used it with FW/SW as well and found that it works better than cycle. Keep in mind that all of these "benificial bacteria" bottles contain dead bacteria. Thats the #1 reason why they don't work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I've never seen anything substantial enough to say that it will cycle a tank by itself. I have used it more or less as a precautionary. It can't hurt anything. The best way to get your tank cycled is to introduce some gravel from an established aquarium and giving it sometime for the bacteria to develope.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.
I know it's cheaper and easier to use media from an established tank, but I am just curious about these products. It might be just a waste of money, but I still might try it, or some other bacteria product.
