| OK, what sup with brown algae? | |
princessinabsentia![]() Hobbyist Posts: 135 Kudos: 81 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Aug-2004 ![]() | This is a new sight to me, i've had my tank for over 3 years now, and this is the FIRST time i've had brown algae... is this going to harm anyhting? I realize i need an algae eater, but my last one was eaten by my rtb shark believe it or not and im waiting to get a new one till i set up my 20 for my shark (lol ) i just cant get rid of him hes HUGE!!! Anything help is greatly appreciated me |

Its growing on some of my non-living rocks. It doesn't seem to be harming my fish or distrupting the water quality. |

I'm not sure you'll find any algae eaters that will actually eat it. I've had sucess with phoshpate removers, and malasyian trumpet snails. ^_^ ![]() |

I put in 2 ottos (aka otocinclus, aka dwarf suckermouth)and they started chompin away immediately! The next day my murky tank was nearly spotless. Definitely worth a try as long as you first remove anything big enuff to eat them. ![]() |
