Hi everyone

I want to let you guys know about is stuff. It is called ALGONE.It is the best suff ever.
For over 2 months now i have been trying to get rid of green water. It was so bad that you could not see the fish.I had done everything that you all had suggest. The black out of the tank etc...
Then i did a search on the net and came across a website about algone. So i bought some and put it my filter. Two weeks later the green water is gone and the cloudy water.

So if you are having a hard time yourself try Algone maybe it will work for you too.

I am a very happy to be able to see my fish again.

Ty to all that tried to help.

I don't know "who tried to help" but the product is short term...

Stop dosing and the problem returns.

It's sort of a mask that covers up the real problem, algae blooms.

Hi

I am going to disagree with you because this is not a chemical. This is plant like stuff that is a pouch and you put it in the filter. You use carbon to take out odor and color. You use Ammonia chipe to remove ammonia.

Why not use Algone to help with cloudy water and green water. It also helps with Nitrates,Ammonia.

I have been tring to get rid of green water for two months now and this was the only thing that helped.I tried everything i can think of.So i am going to keep on using this, it is great.
I am a fish lover and have been for over 6 years now and nothing depressed me more when i turned on the lights on the fish tank to see if the green water was gone yet and all you do see is green water still....I lost most of my plants because of black out of the tank,no plant food.

The only thing i did not do was take the tank down and start over.I was almost ready too.

So all of you who is having the same problem maybe this will work for you.

Thank- you all

I don't use either.

I was 2 seconds away from agreeing with Garyroland, but decided to do some research first. [link=http://www.algone.com/greenwater.htm]http://www.algone.com/greenwater.htm" style="COLOR: #FF4040[/link] Apparently, it is enzymes which break down and hold excess nutrients in the water, and not does not contain chemicals according to the manufacturer.

It does seem that it can be a substituite for learning how to correctly maintain proper nutrient balances / water chemistry in a tank, and in that regard I'd have to raise my eyebrows at it a bit, but even so... You used it, it worked, you're happy with it... I'm glad it worked and I hope the green water stays away for you. If you haven't already, study the initial causes of your problem and see what you can do to prevent it in the future so the learning potential of the problem isn't lost.

"Algone" is nothing but a nitrate reducer...

Nitrates, especially in large concentrations, are a simple fertilizer feeding algae.

Algone simply reduces nitrates using plant fibers and starves the algae.

The product has to be dosed every four weeks to keep nitrates below or at the 10ppm mark, something a well balanced tank would do anyway.

Not a good choice for good, natural water quality and a poor substitute for learning and practicing the nitrogen cycle.
