hi Justin

Your tank looks good, with one exception: the pleco - if a common pleco - will grow very large and isn't the best fit for a 55 gallon tank. They're often sold as algae eaters, but common plecos don't do very well with eating algae, especially as they get older. There are two other kinds of plecos, the bristlenose and the rubber lip, that are great algae eaters and only grow to 4-5 inches, which is great for your tank.

If you can give the pleco back to the LFS, that would be for the best. Once that happens you can add a few more cories, 4-5.

Back in the saddle!

i wouldn't say you were overstocked.

i'd add more cories at least 4 would be good (magic number 6)

i'd also add few more cherry barbs - sure they perfer groups in large tanks?

Agree with above about pleco - find out what it is, ok plecos - bristlenose, clowns for example.

Yea i know about the pleco getting to big. I already talked to the LFS guy and he said i could bring it back as long as it was in good health.

I'm going to get more cories when i i get back up to the LFS. Would a Kuhli Loach live with shrimp in this tank?

Also do you have to have air running in the tank? I have a powerhead and i have air hooked up to it so it blows bubbles all throught my tank. Do i need all that?

Im also getting a Co2 injector from bigalsonline so i can get rid of the DIY one.

Thanks for reading my post.

I have 5 Kuhli loaches in my 55. I have had ghost shrimp in the tank before with no problems. Just make sure the loaches have a place to hide.

Definitely sometihgn wrong here... If you have plants, run only CO2 and no air pump, as the air bubbles will drive out any CO2, making it pointless to inject it. If you do not have plants, remove the CO2, as there is nothing to use this, and you can leave or remove the air bubbles, won't make that mcuh of a difference in oxygenation.

I wouldn't say that you are overstocked, but you definately need more cories, and at least one other cherry barb. Also, I would maybe trade in the pleco for a couple of oto fish or a smaller pleco. Khuli loaches are ultra peaceful, but need places to hide, I have three right now, and they are great little fish to have, shouldn't be a problem
