I would like to add a Pimelodus pictus and maybe a couple of blue/gold gouramis, do you think it would work out? |

brandeeno![]() Mega Fish Posts: 929 Kudos: 636 Registered: 13-Sep-2007 ![]() ![]() ![]() | just add a mate for the curviceps and the keyhole... i am not a cichlid expert, but that sounds much better than adding anything that would prey on the current ocupants. i would say have 2 females of each cichlid (unless you already have males)and maybe get some loaches (khuli, etc...) also 2 platties is kinda bad... if you have a male and female that will stress the female. i wuld either take out one and add more of the same sex. this will keep you away from fry and will also reduce stress. but if there is fry i am sure yoour keyhole(s) and curvicep(s) would enjoy the fry as a quick bite... so get two female of each cichlid, i would say 4 female platties, and 4 loaches. this will be a pretty active tank... if you dont like the platties maybe go for a school of cardinal, neon, or etc tetras... \\\\\\\"an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure\\\\\\\" |

Bubblebrain![]() Hobbyist Posts: 81 Kudos: 39 Votes: 22 Registered: 07-May-2005 ![]() ![]() | my pictus cat is not active during the day, but at night it rules the tank. it has killed many fish overnight. i bought two sailfin mollies thinking they would be too big to get eaten, well one disappeared the first night and the second had its tail bitten off but still alive. then the second molly died during the day. i later found the corpse of the first molly under a rock being eaten by two khuli loaches. just to let you know the pictus cat is about 2.5" long and the mollies were 3". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
