How many Pictus cats would you put in a 29 gallon tank?

I wouldn't put any. They grow to four inches in length and and are extremely active (particularly at night or when they smell food). A 29 gallon tank isn't really big enough to accommodate fish of that activity level, and certainly just about any tankmate in with the catfish would be disturbed and under stress during the night.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

they will get larger than four inches if kept properly. Closer to five inches max. They need plenty of room so that their long barbels are not always in contact with decorations. Also several should be kept together. I would try to pick another species, maybe bumblebee catfish.
