| Pleco and a piece of thread | |
tetratech![]() ![]() Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4241 Kudos: 1074 Registered: 04-Nov-2003 ![]() | I did a stupid thing. I tied down a piece of java fern to my driftwood by creating a loop with a piece of thread. The piece of java fern came loose and it left a loop of thread on my driftwood and before I could take it out my snowball pleco tried to go through it. Now he has a piece of thread stuck around his head. Any suggestions? I tried catching him but it's almost impossible with all the plants, rocks and driftwood in my tank. My Scapes |

Make sure it's tall enough and skinny enough so that the angel can't reach the bottom while the plec can still sneak all the way in there... Like Klee said, it'll probably get sloughed off soon enough, but if you're worried, there's always a way to catch a fish... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

tetratech![]() ![]() Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4241 Kudos: 1074 Registered: 04-Nov-2003 ![]() | Fallout, The Glass didn't work, so I might have to remove everything. I have a tremendous trunk type piece of driftwood that if I remove will make a tremendous mess. I didn't want to do unless it was absolutely necessarily. Plus I have rocks and plants etc. The thread is around his head and caught behind his pectoral fins. My Scapes |

Also, I find it's easier to catch Plecos with my bare hands than a net, especially larger ones. Just move real slow until you're close enough for a grab. Pin him to the glass or bottom or whatever with your index on top and thumb and middle behind his pecs. Good luck, Mike |

Also this pleco the second I approach the tank he runs under driftwood, etc. I only really get a good look at him at nite. My Scapes |
