Doing a 33 gallon glass, 125w Ebo heater, Emperor 280 filter, havn't decided on substrate but am looking at fluorite or fluorite red from seachem, it will be planted, havn't decided on lighting ( suggestions welcome, need full housing/lighting system ) and probably a DIY CO2 system if I want to put forth the effort.

Anyways, here is my stocking plan.

2 pairs german blue rams ( might subsitute for apisto. cauc. or...? )
6-8 panda cory's
oto's -- if and numbers are in the air

Let me know your opinions, Im pretty set on the cory's, and I want something colorful and active for the "showpiece" fish of the tank.

I don't say this often, but that's so... understocked. Fine, I guess, but some upper/mid level swimmers would be nice.

I'm not positive as to whether multiple pairs of rams will be okay (as to whether they'll turn overly mean when/if breeding), but your tank IS understocked. You could look at upping your school of cories or just going with one pair of rams and a school of some version of tetras for a little more action around the top, but it's up to you...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

You could add some sort of gourami, or the above mentioned tetra school...a school of harlequin rasboras would be nice as well.

I believe that my tank would be too warm for harlequins as I'd keep it about 79F

Well, I was thinking 2 pairs ( maybe just 1 pair ) of either Bolivian or Blue rams, 8 panda cory's and a pair ( 1 ) of pearl gourami's and 4-6 black ruby barbs. How does this sound?

Black ruby barbs...or gold barbs...33 gallon, I'm guessing it's a 3 foot tank, what we have in the office currently...I have some gold barbs in there and they absolutly LOVE it. The orange color is a great contrast to the green of the few plants that I do have in there (haven't got the best lighting/substrate so I haven't worked too hard on the plants). If you do want to add the ottos, do it after the tanks been running and planted for a few months...some even say wait for an entire year before adding ottos. They like a well established tank and the cooler temp range (79 may be a bit on the high side for them).
