Happy New Year all.

I have a 45 gal. stocked with;
3 full grown angels
6 cories
1 sailfin pleco (about 8 inches)

I'd like to add an RTBS to the mix. The one I have in my 55 does a great job at keeping the plastic plants clean and the plants in my 45 are getting loaded up with algae. Do you think they will all get along?

thanks

I think that you could do it, if you moved that sailfin pleco. They get really big (over a foot and a half), and yours will certainly outgrow that tank. Moving the sailfin would give you plenty of room in that tank. In fact, you could switch the sailfin plec with a bristlenose (a great algae-eating fish in itself), and add the shark. Just my opinion.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

red-tailed sharks are mainly only aggressive to other fish very similar to them in my experience, other cyprinids in particular, but mine is in with a SAE and completely ignores it. it will depens on the fish, but i'd be very surpised if it couldn't live together with angels

I have a 7-8" RTBS in a 75g.

He lives with a breeding pair of angels, 12 red eye tetras, 6 cories and 2 rafeals.

They do great, you've only got to watch the aggression with other shark species, ie. rainbow sharks don't mix well with RTBS.

but with what you have you should do fine, as mentioned above i also say replace the sailfin with a bristle nose

Thanks for the replies.

I have planned on moving the pleco but he's a favorite in our house and no one wants him to go. I may bring him to work and put him in the 55 I have there and get a BN for the 45 at home.
