As for a site, this is one of the better sites on Rainbows; http://members.optushome.com.au/chelmon/ And I moved this to the rainbowfish forum for you. There is always a bigger fish... |

Presumably its just another crap made up pet shop name. Send a piccy of it and we'll ID it for you. Probably a celebes rainbow or similar, there was a lot of taxonomic confusion about rainbows a decade back and some of the species common names in circulation got confusing, but there really shouldnt be any "elegant rainbows" except for marine species now that the taxonomy has been sorted out. |

They are swimming mid to surface, shoal and doscile Hope this helps you to help me Thanks (I'll see if I can post a photo) |

Many of them that have the black stripe, can make it fade away when fully colored up. This is why the black strip does not help much with the ID of this particular fish. A pic would be about the only way we could even try to ID the Rainbow you have. There is always a bigger fish... |

In retrospect your desc What shop was it dave? Last edited by longhairedgit at 29-Nov-2005 07:00 |
