Just another question... I have heard many opinions on an angel in a 32 gallon. Would an angel fit in a 32?

My next decision is whether to get a small shoal of tetras or *attempt* to have a few ottos or another centrepiece fish.

There's too much controversy and everyone has different opinions about angels in something less than a 55. I'd get juvenile angels anyway, and if I think they are going to get too big and unhappy I'll give them back to the lfs. I personally think I am going to go with the 8 black neons, MAYBE 1 angel or a ram or a gourami, and either another shoal of tetras or a few ottos.

i personally don't believe in angel will be happy in a 32 gallon tank. They do get quite large and would take up a ton of space fullgrown.

I personally have had 2 angels since may and they have grown from mabe an inch to an inch an a half. Im really not impressed with this angels need 10000 gallons per fish to live properly. Its not like i've feed mine wrong i feed them freeze dried and frozen. I personally with the way my angels are growing are fine in a 33 gallon.

Breeding pairs are reglarly kept in twenties. A thirty five is no problem for a single angel.

EDIT: grammar and content

A single angel would be fine, provded there are few more (and smaller) tankmates.

I plan to restock my tank soon and I just want others ideas of what to put in a 32 gallon. Currently I have 6 black neons, 4 blue cories ( I had 6 but 2 died), and 6 danios. I plan to keep the 6 black neons and the 4 cories if they make it (They are struggling with gill flukes). I would just like some stocking ideas that others find appealing regardless of what I have in the tank now. I would also like to have algae eaters in there of some kind.

Well....it depends on how dedicated you are to water changes. I think you could, but you could also do my original idea of having 6 of each school to make more room for a centerpiece. Also what filtration do you plan on using?

Well if I add ottos I won't be able to add a centrepiece fish would I? I would like to have 6 cories, 8 black neons, another shoal of some type of tetra, and either rams which I cannot find here or dwarf gouramies.

Yea i agree maybe up the tetras to 8. Also i seriously disagree with everyone saying ottos are sensitive, they are alot more hardier then most say or think.

Well, you have several options.

As for algae eaters, do you want a pleco? Bristlenose (bushy nose) clown and pitbull would be good choices. Otherwise, ottos, though sensitive at times, would make another option.

Keep all your tetra and cory schools filled out to at LEAST six, possibly 8. The more the merrier with those guys.

Are you interested in a centerpiece fish? Something like a gourami or a ram? There's several options as far as those are concerned.

It's best to go to you lfs and write down the names of things that interest you, and are available.

Personally, I like gold barbs and pentazona (belted) barbs. But it's your tank, so what are you interested in?

HTH..

EDIT: wow...everybody beat me...I'm slow today Some major ESP goin' on

Have you considered maybe a pair of Dwarf Gouramis as a centerpiece?

Well I hope the lfs still has those cories because they are quite rare. I would maybe like a centrepiece fish also if it can fit.

A personal favorite of mine is gold barbs . I just love the color and activity of them and think a school of them would look good in a 32, I've got some in my 30 now .
Good luck with those corys hope they pull thru for ya.
