Anybody ever order fish from this website? They have some great prices but am wondering on the quality of the business and fish.

I have heard good things about the site, but personally, the prices are a bit too steep for me.

I haven't heard anything but bad from the site, but then again, I haven't heard too much about them. You can find many of their fish elsewhere anyway. Stingrays? Rare Afishanado and Freshwaterstingray.com. Piranhas? SharkAquarium and Aquascapeonline.com. Such sites are more trusted (and, depending on the fish, even cheaper!).

Well, what caught my eye was 25 Silver Arowanas for $57.50. In my town, Arowanas go for $100 each and are hard to find so I was thinking it may be a good business investment. How many of those Arowanas that arrive alive to Canada would be another question.......

Wow, seriously overpriced... A baby arowana can be as low as about $12 down here in the US, and $50 should get you a pretty hefty specimen.

i just stopped by my lfs today - the have a baby arowana - about 3.5" or so for $90. (cdn) and that's about the average price up here - if you take that into account riverwonder's price is extremely reasonable!!!

That's insane. I hope someone has a valid reason for that... I could just buy a whole ton of arowanas here, move to Canada, and sell'em all.

BTW, what are you thinking of doing with 25 arowanas, anyway? :%)

Yes, Arowanas are very popular here but very expensive. When the LFS gets one in, it is sold within minutes. I'd love to get 25 Arowanas, grow them to about 5-6" and sell them so fish stores.

I have seen young arrowanas here of around 4-5 inches going for 99 dollars canadian. A large foot long specimen I saw for sale fetched $299.99
It would be a good business to buy Arrowanas online and sell them in Canada, you could definetly make a huge profit. I have considered buying fish from that site before myself, and one person at a LFS has bought from them and said all the fish arrive safe and sound in good time, mind you there were zebra plecs and plecs are pretty tough little fishes.
I imagine arrowanas would ship well. They are a tough hardy fish.

The arrowanas around here also go for $99-130 and are around 6". It definitely might be a money making deal.

I guess it comes down to the amount of suppliers in each country. Arowanas are hard to get here so people will pay big bucks to get them. Unfortunatly, the LFS's know this and can charge high prices. I know when my LFS has an Arowana in stock, there are always people gathered around the tank. It would be great to have a business raising and selling Arowanas. They are a remarkable fish!

In a fair world, you can get 25% of the value when selling to a LFS, so in CDN dollars shoot for $25. per fish. The LFS's in Canada ship them in from the States so that's exactly what they're payin, what was that, $12. U.S. per fish ? So about $18. per fish CDN. In fact they might be paying less then what you wish to charge them.

Here's a better idea, set up your own website and sell them for $50. plus shipping.

The Amazon Nut...
