WesleT Hobbyist Posts: 57 Kudos: 55 Votes: 3 Registered: 29-Sep-2004 | k in the profiles it says the rope fish max size is 35 inches... i just took two home today this is the first time i have seen them at work... they are 6-7 inches and i got them in a 20gallon with some catfish anyways.. my uncle has 6 and he has had them for 3 years and they are only 10 inches so do they really get 35inches? Mind you I know nothing about this fish, I am sorry if that was a little blunt, but isnt it?? On top of that you have more fish in there as well. I am thinking maybe you should stick around for another person who could help you in what size tank he needs. Sorry I could not help you in the size. Its not the water that matters its the well being of the fish and his swimming room..... I also maintain my tanks very well, I own oscars, very messy, one is only 4 inches in an 80 gallon tank and its still hard to keep water up. I find it hard that you can even FIT a fish that gets that size in that tank.....Maybe its just me but we will see I guess..... Angel Eel BTW welcome to FP I see you have a few posts but I never seen you before Last edited by angeleel at 19-May-2005 19:19 |

helloeveryone Small Fry Posts: 10 Kudos: 7 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Apr-2006 | I've always found that most fish never get as big is the wild unless you have a really big, understocked tank. If overcrowded, the hormone level in the aquarium produced by the other fish can stunt the fishes growth. |
