Kate, how on earth did you find a 90 gallon for ten dollars!? *is verrrry jealous* Patching up the leaks won't be too hard if there are any. What are your plans for the tank?

If it's a reptile tank it may have holes in the bottom, and they usually don't have glass that can handle the presure of 720 pounds of water.

Yes... reptile tanks are made from very thin glass, and will burst if you try to fill them up... If the bottom is solid, the most water you could possibly hope for is maybe 1/5th of the way up... and even that is _very_ risky.

Assuming this tank really is just a reptile tank, it hurts just to think about the accident waiting to happen five minutes after it gets filled.

Another thing to consider is the amount of Nitrogen that will be present in the tank from animal waste. The waste will be absorbed by the silicone and you could potentially have some serious problems with trying to get the tank to cycle.

fishyhelper288 - A 90 gal fish tank is going to have 1/4 to 5/8ths inch thick glass. You'll be able to tell by looking at the the edges where the glass panes are joined. It will also be very heavy. If not, it was designed as an animal cage and should not be used for fish. If so, you're getting a steal even if you have to do a complete reseal. Good Luck

I would still buy it for 10 bucks. You could turn around and it sell if it doesn't work and maybe make a profit to buy fish supplies. I know in my area a 90 g reptile cage goes for a lot more than 10 dollars. I sold a leaky 66g for $60 to a person for reptile cage.
