| Seeking Basic Info on African Dwarf Frogs....... | |
dreamweaver8891![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 320 Kudos: 533 Votes: 79 Registered: 25-Apr-2004 ![]() | Recently I aquired several African Dwarf Frogs... and now realize how little I know about them... So I'm hoping to find some help.... First of all, how do you tell the males from the females? And, do they breed frequently? Secondly, although my lfs advised that these frogs are not picky eaters and will eat most foods... brine shrimp, flakes, pellets, etc.... I'd like to know for sure... So what is the suggested diet for ADFs? Thirdly, I've read differing opinions on ADF and Betta compatability - What is the real scoop? And last but not least, what is the water condition and temp best suited for ADFs? Thank you for any information that you can provide. To thine own self be true... |

They also like around 75 degrees for the temp. As far as water conditions... on mine I just do a water change about every other week. They do fine by that. As far as male from female.. sorry i couldnt tell you. I know how to with the ACF's. but i dunno if the ADF's are differnt. ![]() -kristin ![]() ~!!I lOve LiFe!!~ |

They've been in there over a year and I haven't seen any eggs or tadpoles. I think either they need special circumstances to breed like a drought, then a rainy season or the fish have eaten the eggs before I saw them. As for telling them apart, I haven't a clue except I have one that is really getting fat and suspect it may be a she with eggs. I feed that tank flakes, dried bloodworms, frozen bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp. |
