Are Shrimps & Corydoras compatible in an Anubias planted tank?.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the shrimp, depends on the corys, depends on the size of the tank.

Under most circumstances, they'll be fine though.

I'm not much into Shrimps, but i wish to keep some, but till today i didn't do any research. Any help guys?.

Well, with Corydoras it will be different. I'm going to have some Peppered Corydoras & the tank is a 120 Litre tank.

I'm going to have some Anubias & Java Moss as plants & a sand substrate.

yep shrimp should be ok with corys.
Ghosts, Cherry, Amano, Snowball, Bumblebee,
Bamboo, those are all neat shrimps.
The giant African filter feeding shrimp is pretty
cool too if you wanted to go for a big black shrimp that looks like a crayfish but with fans instead of claws.

All shrimp species should be fine with all cory species. I can't think of any exceptions. The cories do occasionally bump the shrimp but the shrimp just dash backward out of the way and then go back to what they were doing. Only problem might be if you stocked a tank really heavily with cories and shrimp they would constantly be bumping into each other from lack of bottom space. Shrimp don't really swim around in the tank. They mostly hang out on the bottom or on decorations so tall tanks will be more crowded than shorter wider or longer tanks. Bottom space is far more important than actual gallons or litres when stocking shrimp.

I'm not sure it would be a wise decision to house Macrobranchium with Corydoras pygmaeus. While Macros are not predatory per se, they can and will catch small fish if the opportunity arises.

Thanks for the info. guys......

Well the tank is 100x30x30 cm & i was thinking of 8 Corydoras + (??) Shrimps. I would like the smaller type of Shrimps.

It will be decorated with Anubias & Java Moss attached to Driftwood.

I think mine just enjoys slaughter. He will kill as many fish as he can and then won't eat the carcasses.

Macrobrachium is a genus of so-called "long arm shrimp" that get pretty large and eat just about anything they can grab.

[link=Here's]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/threads/30388.1.htm?14# [/link] a thread about the accidental Macrobrachium I got in a shipment of Amanos.

Edit: Just for the record, my guy is now about 8 inches long when fully extended.

Basically i'll sum it up, keep to the amano, glass, and ghost shrimp that keep under two inches in total to be sure of a safe living. Avoid anything with especially long front arms, as more often than not they are predatory.
A lot of the fan shrimp are also fine, woodshrimp, and even the giant cameroon fan shrimp are fine with even tiny fish.

I had a long arm shrimp, in with a batch of ghost shrimp and I wanted to keep it, but no sooner had I correctly identified it, it sloughed,it got eaten! Such are the problems of shrimp!
