If you don't currently see a yolk sac, it must have absorbed it within the last month, perhaps even week. In fact, 2" is even scrawnier than normal; your average baby arowana straight out daddy's mouth usually has another half inch or so on them unless my memory tricks me. Try not to have motions that are too quick in front of the baby arowana's tank. Especially at this age, they have pretty high blood pressure, or so I'm told. They're pretty easy to send into shock (which will give you just about the same heart attack to you) since the arowana will just go stiff and stop swimming altogether. It's not the most comforting thing for an arowana owner to see, that's for sure. As for the Jardini growing slowly, it might be because of the restricted diet. Bloodworms alone isn't going to contain all the essential nutrients, and as the jardini and the silver live halfway across the planet it's probable that their nutrient requirements are a tad different. In any case, a variety of foods could help. On the other hand, the Jardini could just be a slow-growing species compared to the Silver. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
