I just talked to my manager (owner) this morning and she told me about a horrible story about Seymore the Snakehead who once lived in a tank at the store I work at.

To this day she is still upset about the government confiscating and killing Seymore without a warrant. This article just came out today.

http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/cover/cover.html

This link will probably just last for a day.

Good read, long but good. It really makes you realize how slanted things can become. I do feel bad about what happened to seymore. He sounded like a really cool fish, and for him to be taken away and killed in such a swift motion really is a harsh outcome of all this.

Ecologists instantly freaked out, becuase if this fish gets a toe-hold in the northeast, it could go from coast to coast gorging itself on lesser species and leaving the environment in ruins...

There was just a new article on them in the newspaper today. I believe it was newsday but dont quote me on that. It had to do with numerous animals being outlawed in certain states.

speaking of that, NYS is trying to pass a law banning all snakes of the family boidae, and most of the larger, cooler monitors!! that includes harmless ball pythons and sand boas!

I saw that....quite unfortunate.

In a bit of odd coincidence, I saw the movie "Snakehead Terror" just a couple of days ago...just terrible. I am glad that all Channa sp. are quite legal here in Canada.

I've been trying to catch that movie when it's on cause I'd love to see how horribly innaccurate they portray snakeheads to be .

I saw it too. If u want an idea of how innacurate, the snakeheads were chasing people on land and biting through doors to get to them.

Tell me how inaccurate it is when a snakehead breaks down your door and eats you...

A know a guy who knows a guy who knew a guy who got eaten by a snakehead.

No really! It's true!

I liked the 25' snakehead that did the textbook whale breaches. The sad thing is that the fish in the movie didn't even resemble Channa sp.
