I was thinking of a livebearer tank,a tetra tank or somthing out of pace. Any suggestions. All welcome. Yup. I'm that crazy Twilight/animal/music girl |

If you don't want the Rainbows, maybe you can exchange them with other fish @ your LFS. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I can think of some fairly odd and interesting fishes you can keep in there. Mind you, if you run with some of my suggestions, you'll be limited as to what else to keep with them for various reasons, but if you want something that's a bit different from the standard community aquarium, I can suggest some interesting ideas ... |

A pair of kribensis and a school of upside-down catfish, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head but I'm sure someone else will know. Maybe some kind of african tetra. This would give you some pretty common fish but a setup that not everyone gets into. |

Personally I've had no luck keeping germans so I'd go with the bolivians. So you could do a pair of rams or even get 3-4 of them along with a school of cories and a big school of tetras and a BN if you need algae control. |

shadowtheblacklab Hobbyist Posts: 100 Kudos: 52 Votes: 0 Registered: 31-Mar-2007 | Sounds like a plan! I do have a very peaceful gold gourami in there...would anyone bother him? What kind of tetra would you suggest *Don't say neons* they always die. P.S. I'm down to a single rainbow. Yup. I'm that crazy Twilight/animal/music girl |

lioness Enthusiast Posts: 159 Kudos: 55 Registered: 01-Feb-2003 | Ugg..Neons are so overbred and pumped full of meds it is no wonder they die... I've had very good luck with cardinals if you still like the neon look. You have so many options with tetras! Congo, pristilla, black neon, black skirt are some of my favorites... Tetras are cool... Just go to the local fish store and find some you like (make sure they don't have any too special needs before you buy.) If the gourami is mild tempered as you say he should do fine with any nonagressive fish. The rams, cories, and tetras are perfect. The ram/cory/tetra thing is all from the same area. Sounds like a south american setup! |
