If it was me, I would give the Rummynose Tetra and the Penquin Tetras back to an LFS or to someone with schools of those fish and get the following. 6 more Neon Tetra 2 More Zebra Danios 3 or 4 More Corydoras cats My reasoning behind this is primarily for a variety of color, activity, simplicity, and this fills all the levels of your tank with activity. Just make sure the Corydoras get some wafers or something as the danios and tetras wont let much food reach the bottom. Later! "Talk is cheap. Action can be almost as affordable" |

Increase the size of the Neon and Zebra Danio shoals, provide the Corydoras with more companions of the same species, and rehouse the lone Rummy and the Penguin Tets. PARTICULARLY rehouse the Penguin Tetras because those fishes can sometimes become nippy. They're also better off in a roomy setup - because they're active swimmers and need decent numbers to be happy, Penguin Tetras are something I'd normally consider as a fish for a 4ft aquarium, because in smaller quarters they can show their discomfort at being cramped by shredding the fins of certain other fishes. Incidentally, a trick you can use to make sure the Corys receive some food is the one I use with the algae tablets in my aquarium. Find a spare piece of undergravel filter uplift tube, and use that to position catfish pellets or other sinking foods where the Corys will get to the food first. If you do that, then feed the Neons and the Danios with regular flake foods to keep them distracted away from the bottom, the Corys will soon learn that there are nice treats awaiting them, and you might find, as I've done with my Pandas and Otocinclus, that they learn to sense the vibrations associated with the use of the tube to place the food and start coming out of their hidey holes and hangouts in anticipation. ![]() Some day I'll have to photograph this procedure in action so that I can show everyone. ![]() ![]() |
