Your red tail shark will outgorw this tank and while doing so become more aggresive, probably to the point of killing your corys. If u took him back to the LFS you could get 6-10 corys in your school which will make them much happier

By water requirements they can live together. By temperament it's highly likely that smaller or more peaceful fish like cories will be beaten up and eventually killed by the shark. Plus being over 6" and active it's going to take up alot of space. Probably a better 40-55g fish although a very lightly stocked 29g might work. If you really love the shark I would plan the tank around him and return the cory instead. Tiger barbs might work since they are fairly agressive and active themselves but I could see where their nippy attitude could either result in torn shark fins or the barbs themselves becoming targets. Often hit or miss when dealing with such fish.

Cories are schooling/shoaling fish. Meaning they do best in groups of 6+. Less than that and they will be more stressed, less healthy, less active, and if nothing else less interesting to watch. Most fish like that also feed better with more of them and definitely come out in the open more. You shouldn't add just 1 or 2 cories to a tank but shoot for a minimum of 6 of the same species.
