What kinds of fish do you like? Tetras? Cichlids? etc... Is it a high or long 20?

Unless your planting the tank I'd pull out some gravel until there's only 1-2". Over 2" will be hard to keep clean and could lead to high nitrates or anerobic pockets.

For algea eaters you can try otos or possibly some of the smaller plecos. Most of the really small plecos aren't the greatest algae eaters but interesting to watch. A bn might be possible although some get fairly large for a 20 and they produce alot of waste. Clowns would be good but mine don't really eat any algae and they require a piece of driftwood in the tank. Do not buy the fish that are only laballed algae eater. These are almost always chinese algae eaters which get up to a foot long and are agressive as they get older.

Maybe browse around lfs and see what's available to you. There are a lot of tetras that would work in a 20g. Rasboras are another good choice for peaceful schoolers. Think about the look of your tank...what color background and gravel, live or artificial plants, wood, rocks or other decorations.

In addition to a school and bottom feeders you could have some sort of centerpiece fish, like a small gourami.

You said restock.. is there anything in the tank now? Some small praecox rainbows would be neat in that tank along with some cherry barbs or cardinal tetras
