Done a community before..
then did Oscars..
gave them to LFS and pondering what to do next.
Will not have live plants.

Ideas:
Pearl Gouramis/Angelfish/Cories/Red Eye Tetras

OR Cichlids (kinds that aren't anywhere close to being as messy as Oscars though)

Ideas?

Eartheaters They work well in a long tank. They aren't messy but, as the name implies, they will move around your gravel. Nice tank mates for other semi-aggresive Cichlids like severums.

Argh, the trap of the 125 gallon makes me mad. It's dimensions are close to that of the 180 gallon, but it houses so few less types of fish!

Anyway, if you're up to a challenge, this tank will hold a pair of the smaller species of stingray. You could keep Datnoids and Bichirs with them, too, as well as a number of other fish.

go with african cichlids. take a look at the peacocks & haps if you're unfamiliar with them.

How about doing a school of 12 red eye tetras, 4 Angelfish, and a large school of pearls, say 10 or so?
Then you could fill up the bottom with either corys, or a neat catfish of some kind, like the black lancer, or perhaps the pictus, or maybe a large pleco like the black phantom, sailfin, or galaxy pleco.
