In a 140g tank, you could have 2 or 3 schools of fish. I think 2 big schools would look great. You could also have a few angels and gouramis. The choices are pretty much endless in that size tank. Cories and loaches are good bottom feeders. I would get a BN or another type of smaller pleco for algae. What size tank are your angels in now? |

You may still have room for a moonlight, snakeskin, or opaline gourami...or even pearls. I suggest Rummynose tetras or Harlequin Rasboras for schooling fish. Also, a school of lemon tetras would be nice too. I think you could have clown loaches in a 140g. Get another opinion though, as I've never stocked a tank that large. If not clowns, then yoyo's are great also. You could have loaches and a big shoal of cories for the bottom. |

amanda140 Small Fry Posts: 12 Kudos: 4 Votes: 0 Registered: 12-Feb-2006 | I'm going to be moving all my fish into the 140 gallon. I'm shutting it down as soon as soon as the new tank is cycled. I was thinking about clown loaches, do they have to be housed in groups of three? I was leaning more towards the yoyos.... how many corries do you think I should keep? i have 5 albino corries, but I was thinking of introducing a school of panda corries or peppered corries... Is it ok to mix different schools of corries? Thanks..... |

I had corydoras trilineatus (False Juliis) and pandas together and they were fine in my 55g. If you go with the yoyos instead of the clowns you could have 6 yoyos, 8 albino cories, and 8 pandas or habrosus. You may even be able to have more, but with the larger group of yoyos and plecos, the bottom would be pretty busy. You may want to rethink the 8 angels. They will take up alot of space in your tank. I would not get a gourami. Especially since you have the female bettas also. That takes up alot of the middle-top space. Add cories, loaches, and tetras and you will be pretty stocked. |
