Want ads or the bargain finder paper. Lots of cheap ones there. Becare sometimes you get what you pay for. Watch for tanks that are chipped, cracked, stratches and leaks you don't discover untill you get home. Watch out for tanks that have sat dry for a long time, the silicone could have dried out, it does after a while and this could cause a slow leak. Test filters that come with tank to ensure they work and also other equipment.
Goodluck there are lots of good deals to be found and lots of crap that people are trying to sell.

Look around at fish stores for a deal. Used tanks can be good, but brand new tanks are better.

The site [link=http://www.glasscages.com]http://www.glasscages.com" style="COLOR: #FFFF80[/link] has some pretty good prices on tanks. If you are close, you can pick it up...but I'm sure shipping costs a fortune!

Start looking around at garage and yard sales. You never know what you'll come across

Try Wal-Mart they have start up systems, that I've found are pretty reasonable...10 gallon $30; 29=$69; 55=$129 or so if my memory serves me right...comes with the light, hood, and a cheap filter to get you going...Heidi

like openwater said- the want ads are the best place to look, especially for tanks over 75gal. alot of people are dumping them due to remolding or moving. their asking price decreases alot over a short period. i got my 125gal complete ($3000 in receipts) delivered to my door for just under $500. take your time and look around.

Garage sales are good. I actually lucked out and got a 29 gallon with everything (including stand) but the fish and decor for 100 bucks. I also purchased a 15 gal with undergravel filter, heater, rocks, and plants for 15 bucks from a petstore that was getting new stock tanks. (the tank was a stock tank where they sold crabs) and my same friend got a complete 55 gal for 85 bucks. That was pure luck, but always have an eye open. Walmart has good starter tanks, and they also sell stands. ...but be out the lookout..some of the employees dont know their arses from their elbows.. read up on cycling and species on this site...and always be aware of what fish you decide to buy. I saw a store and there mollies had ich, so i mentioned it, and the salescleck blew me off! BE CAREFULL!

I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell!

I actually got my 125 gallon from here! I paid $350 for it. It was a complete setup, and well worth the investment.

Lawn sales are great as well as want ads..

But the best price is to drive around the block on garbage day, sometimes you get a surprise
