Just wondering a couple of questions about threadfin rainbows. Could they be kept in a 5 or 10 gallon?
Would they eat guppy fry? How big do they get?
Is 6.99 each Canadian $ a good price for them or should I haggle for a bargain?

I have 6 of them in a 10 gallon. The guppy fry would have to be extremely tiny because these guys have TINY mouths and i have heard they have even more narrow throats. they are very small, about the size of my cardinal tetras, maybe smaller.

very interesting fish, though they are sometimes nippy with eachother, that might be because (i think) i have all males. they definitely have an attitude. They dont bother the other fish though, just eachother.

as for the price, I got mine 3 for 10 US dollars, so 20 US dollars for 6 fish. so your price doesnt sound too bad, mine was a little cheaper.

edit: btw I wouldnt try to keep them in a 5 gallon, I think they are too active and need a little more space or they would quarrel. I am basing this on the behavior of my fish

Threadfins

Beautiful little fish, but as noted before, teensy mouths so food must be very small. Great fish that like a nicely planted tank with acidic pH and a slight current. They're best kept in a species aquarium as they accept only the best water quality. They get to be about 1.25-1.5 inches in length (3-3.5cm for you bums out there) and do well in small schools
