I think my one and only albino tiger barb in my 15 gallon has decided to go insane. His tankmates include 2 panda cories, a BN plec, and 5 black phantom tetras. Here's the deal---the black phantoms fins are suddenly dissapearing. I dont think its fin rot, b/c its more jagged looking, it looks as if someone has been munching on them. Now the cories and the BN wouldnt hurt a fly so I know it cant be them. That leaves the tiger barb, or one tetra is picking on all of the others. Occasionally I see the tiger barb chasing a tetra, but there was never a big territorial thing between them. None of these tankmates are new to eachother anymore, but the tigerbarb was there before the tetras. For now, I put the tigerbarb into a breeding attachment thingy so that he's in the tank but cannot get to any of the other fish. Already the tetras seem more relaxed and are coming out of their hiding spots. Any ideas? I cant keep the tiger barb cornered off forever...

I had the very same problem and finally gave mine to a friend who has a 55g w/ aPacu and some brim - I was sure I was sending him to his death. My friend says the little guy is now in charge of the big tank, one little fish with a very big attitude-- if you don't have someone who can take him, try to take him back to the LFS or donate him to a local school.

haha yea probably, I wish I could give that to him too. I'll probably see if my LFS minds taking him, he's def. a little guy with a big attitude. What should I do for the tattered fins of the tetras? Melafix?
