It has all sorts of other names so maybe Borneo is one them. Have a look at this link and let us know if that's it http://www.csupomona.edu/~jskoga/Aquariums/myxocyprinus/myxocyprinus.html If it is this fish I would say keep away from it. I've seen these here in Indonesia- they are quite common. In opinion they are an extremely ugly fish, but interesting looking, but as they get older they lose all that color and the shape and just become a huge ugly dull brown catfish ! If they live that long, they rarely do in an aquarium. Leave them in the wild were they belong. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

The "shark" mentioned..shouldn't be kept as it's endangered..plus, it's a schooling fish..and needs company of it's own kind..besides the fact that it gets over 3 ft long. It turns from hi finned..and short..to long and flat like a regular catfish. If it's a "Borneo sucker" of any kind..Hillstream loach.. here's a pic of one of my spotted Hillstreams http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/auction/Aug/20048292217444119222043.jpg |

I'll have to punish whatever LFS worker labels a Datnoid like that... :%) -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

Its hard to tell coz its in black and white.... http://users.pandora.be/bsc.bvba/gracilis/artikels/datnioides.jpg thanks, sumo |

That's another fish that is quite commonly found for sale here in Indonesia. It's native here, found in Sumatra and Borneo. Big buggers. Sometimes call Siamese Tiger Fish so I'm sure somebody could quite easily call it Borneo Tiger Fish or Sumatra Tiger Fish.
