Was wondering if i could unplug the heater for my 10g tank listed on profile and leave it unplugged until weather gets colder? Room temp is set at about 73 degrees F but i think the water will stay a little warmer with the lights and all.

If anything just turn it down to ~70F. This way it will only kick on should for some reason the room get a lot colder. However, assuming the room temp stays at 73F the heater shouldn't come on at all.

You don't have to unplug the heater, just leave it pluged & when the temperature will go down again, it will switch on.
