Use of Activated Carbon? | |
Cichlid Keeper Big Fish Posts: 368 Kudos: 466 Votes: 304 Registered: 17-Aug-2003 | My oscar just passed away a few days ago and I was reading online about how some fish experts are claiming that oscars can die from the use of activated carbon in an aquarium. Has anyone else heard of this or know anything about it any truth to it. As I've always successfully used it with no problems. |

Used correctly, activated carbon should remove a lot of impurities from the water, and used incorrectly it should just be extra biomedia. Did they elaborate on why this was thought to be a problem? |
