Well...I'm back yet again..29 gallon | |
lookin_around Hobbyist Posts: 123 Kudos: 44 Votes: 16 Registered: 31-Aug-2004 | Hey guys...long time no see. Well, incase you don't remember, I had the 29 gallon planted tank. Sry to have dissapeared so suddenly but I got pretty busy. Well, over the summer I had to go to PA for about 3 weeks, and no one to take care of my plants, just got someone to come over to feed the fish, cause no one knows what to do w/ the plants and stuff. Well, when I got back, it was like a horror flick. Couldn't even see the back of the tank there was so much algae. So, I rounded up the fish and threw them in a ten gallon I had set up, which I know crowded them, but it had to be better than that mess. BTW it was 1 angel, 5 harlies, and 3 ottos. Well, I started to try to clean the tank, but it was just too much, and with my upcoming school schedule, I decided to just rip it all out, and start over w/out live plants. I know....bold move...but it was just getting to be too much, and its a good thing I did, cause w/ my school schedule, and it being senior year, I wouldn't have had enough time. AP physics, and AP Calc take up quite some time, along with art, just not my thing. Well, anyways, I had some fake plants, so I just kinda threw them in there. When they first moved in, I had 5 harlies, 3 ottos, and the one angel. Well, one of the ottos didn't do so well with the moving. and then about a month later my angel passed away as well. It was quite unexpected as parameters were good, and he looked fine before. By that time I had gotten him a buddy, so I was then back down to 1 angel, and 5 harlies, and 2 ottos. Just last night I went out and got 5 more harlies and so now my count is 1 angel, 10 harlies, and 2 ottos. Full Tank, bubbles are now gone, I dont know what I was thinking Angel |

Good choice of schooling fish with the Harlequins. They have a great color. I can imagine your black substrate really sets off the pink coloration. "Talk is cheap. I went out and bought the smallest tank and a fish at the same time. Now I'm kicking myself wondering how could I have been so stupid. But I'm hooked. |
