First time ever seeing them in the LFS. So I decided to buy them, first type of gourami of any kind. However they were in some type of magnification type fish tank and they looked much bigger than they actually are. So I bought those instead of Cherry Barbs or White Clouds. My tank is well planted, but they hide a lot. Don't ever really see them swimming around much. I think the bigger fish scare them such as the SAE. So I'm disappointing in buying them. It's only been one night though. THings might change as time goes by. Would have been a lot cheaper to have bought white clouds or cherry barbs instead. ![]() |

Just try to make the environment as calm and comfortable as possible, and they may come out more. With all my nocturnal fish I personally have my head against the tank glass looking for all my hiding fish, but this isn't exactly how everyone wants to see their fish. Got floating plants? The natural environment of these kinds of fish are small bodies of waters which may have dense covers of floating plants, which may help them feel more comfortable. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

They still shy, though when I put fish flakes in, they did come up to eat them when the flakes got near by them. |
