That's pretty much it.

Other ideas are snails, shrimp, some killies, although I'd prefer to have them in a 10.
While some fish will "fit" in a 5, they won't have the room to swim. Another thing to keep in mind is that a 5 like a 10 gallon tank will always have a greater risk of crashing than say a 20 or a 30.

I already have a 72 gallon all glass bow front freshwater community tank Looking for something smaller to keep in my office at my home

would there be any point to getting the 7 Gallon all glass bow front verses the 5 gallon bow front?

Sure more room for plants. I wouldnt' stock it any more than a 5 though. Especially if it's an office tank.

I've kept a betta along with some other small critters like African dwarf frogs and mystery snails in a 5 gallon mini-bow with much success. A lightly stocked, well planted 5 gallon would look very nice I think. : )

couple female betta?

My experience with female bettas is that they tend to establish a hierarchy, so the dominant female will sometimes pick on the others. If you want to keep more than one female betta, I would suggest at least 3-4 in a larger tank (10 gallons works fine for me) with plenty of hiding spots to break up the harrassment. Good luck!

Hi Redzoom2001,
You could get a particion glass cut to fit diagonaly across the tank dividing into 2 sides and have 2 Bettas in the one tank. Make sure it has a lid so they don't jump out or across into each others space. If you fill the tank close to the top you can't see the divider and the effect is awesome as it looks like you have to bettas in the one tank. Then everyone comes along and says you can't have 2 bettas together in one tank. Then you can let them down slowly and show them the divide or you can keep them guesssing for hours. Tip: don't silicne the divider in as its easier to clean the tank, when you water change each week. Good luck. Muss

African dwarf frogs and mystery snails

What do you feed the frogs? Pellet food i hope, i am not a big fan of feeding live foods...

How big are mystery snails? and would they over populate the tank? What do they eat?

thanks never had frogs or snails before so i am sort of clueless..

You could have White Clouds. They won't even need a heater.

Between the 5g and 7g I'd go with the larger if you have the space, simply because it's larger

I've kept two female bettas without problems in a 5g but it really depends on the individual fish. I've also kept them in a 10g, had a bad mix of girls, and ended up with deaths

I've had an ADF for a long time, he's moved from tank to tank. They're funny little creatures, interesting to watch. I see mine eating bottom feeder pellets and wafers, as well as frozen foods.

Killies, male Endler's, exclamation point or other dwarf rasboras (they are a few that reach maybe 1" ), dwarf puffers, bumblebee gobies, sparkling gouramis.

Or a pair of Neolamprologus brevis, or a pair of Badis badis.

I have an Eclipse 6, flourite substrate. I had moneywort growing well in it until the puffers dug it up ]:| Now I only have java fern growing on both the driftwood and substrate. It's a nice little tank.

A mystery snail will get way too big for a small tank like that. They get to be the size of a large softball- and grow rapidly too.

I feed my African Dwarf Frogs several things- they love freeze dried Tubifex, they like algae wafers, they LOVE wardley tropical slow sinking crumbles, and I also feed they soft "newt and salamander pellets" which I believe are made my Nutrafin. I also feed them frozen bloodworms, which they also love, and all bugs that have the misfortune of walking into my house we recently had a tent caterpillar explosion (weird in the winter), and lots got fed to the fish and frogs. Just make sure the things you feed them are not too big, I once had to rescue a frog that was choking on a peice of earthworm that had been intended for the bala sharks.

Some fish ideas:
White Cloud Mountain Minnows (really one of my favorite fish)
Neons
Cardinal Tetras
Lemon Tetras
Pristella Tetras
Guppies
Killifish
Threadfin Rainbows
Pair of Dwarf Gourami
Kuhli Loaches
Bloodfin Tetras
Cochus Blues Tetras
Betta male or females

Theres really lots of choices, espescially since it will be planted.

What are easy plants to keep? Basically stick in the gravel and trim from time to time... if there are any that are that easy to care for... otherwise i will go with the silk kind

Thinking male guppies with something to eat algae
or the H. Formosa (sp?) or maybe some endlers
some type of small fish so that i can have more than just 2...

Now i am thinking either a Bow Front 7 Gallon with Florescent lighting, or a Eclipse 6 with the Florescent Lighting... anyone know of a 5 gallon that has florescent lighting... I really want that type of lighting... or another type of tank that is at the largest 10 gallons... what type of filter? I kind of like the idea that the Eclipse is on the top and is not taking up space in the tank... just been doing some thinking...
