Hi:

I'm a beginner and I have a silver dollar it's about 10cm large (3.5 inches) and an oscar fish it's about 6cm (2.3 inches), also I have a common plecos and my fishtank capacity is litres: 44.62 (US Gallons: 11.79, UK Gallons: 9.82)

I would like to know if I can add a new fish and what id could be and If the fishes I have actually inside the fishthank are "compatible" to be together.

Any suggestion or comment is wellcome

Those fish need a 75G (280 Liter) aquarium, they will stunt and die in an aquarium that small... You are extremely overstocked right now and I suggest you take all of those fish back and get some guppies.

Oscars get over 18 inches (45CM) long and silver dollars need to be in groups of 6 or more and get quite large as well... Not to mention the common plecos which have reached over 2 feet (60CM) long.

First off, welcome to the site.

Second off, like John said, you are way overstocked. A single common pleco alone is too much for that tank, without even considering the silver dollar and oscar.

Oscars and plecs, in addition to getting very big, are very messy, and will make the ammonia levels ski high.

You have two choices- upgrade your tank, or return those fish and start over. Even though they may be small now, they are not going to stay that way. And by leaving them in there and stunting their growth, well, lets just say, would you keep a puppy in a closet? Didn't think so.

Let us know what you decide to do, and then maybe we can help you restock.

While agree that both all the above fish are far too small for an 11 gallon tank, you'd be hard pressed to find an oscar 18" in length---even in the wild, the largest oscars only reach 15", maybe 16". In the aquarium it is almost impossible to get an oscar past 12". As for P. pardalis, or the common pleco, in the home aquaria, it will only reach 10"-12". Often, larger plecs are confused for commons, as they all look pretty similar, but it is physically impossible for something that rarely exceeds 14" in length in the wild to reach 2 feet in length.

I decide leave them, for now, into this tank, I think they are small now, but I will really concider to change them into a new bigger tank.

How much time do you think they will get enough growth so that I will change them?

Thank you very much for you support and advices

The oscar and silver dollar grow VERY fast. The pleco a little slower, but will still be too big for that tank in a surprising amount of time.

They will outgrow your tank in a year, if not less. The general rule for oscars is, I believe, 2-3 inches per year.

Your fish will start to stunt in just months... Each day they're in there puts another nail in their fishy coffins.
