If so, they are awesome little fish, but the feeder ones seem a bit weak so be on the lookout for infections in the first week or two. |

There are goldfish too, but they are sold as 'large feeders' whereas these are 'small feeders'. you can really hit the jackpot in feeder tanks in you look, there are sometimes gobies and rainbows and blue eyes, you just have to be able to spot them and convince the pet shop people to net them for you ![]() |

They have been in my 4ft pond for 6mths fending for themselves. I just brought them in so they could have a cushy winter indoors. ![]() |

There were no small ones or fry so any breeding would have been during the hottest days of summer. I read some sort of survey about ovulation on firetail gudgeons and they don't breed much under 24 degrees celcius. Interesting that it is also used to monitor polution in our waterways. must be easy to catch. There was also one female guppy (at least I think it is but it attacks everything), a cochus blue tetra (also territorial), two golden chinese algae eaters in the pond, and 4 white cloud mountain minnows (2 plain, 2 gold). The overnight temp the other night dropped to 7 degrees celcius so these fish must be really tough. ![]() Oh, almost forgot, I found a great website with pics of Aussie fish (600) and plants and animals. http://db.angfa.org.au/ |
