I want some semi-big plants for my tank but I dont want to pay money for them just to have my fish eat them. What are some good looking bad tasting big plants?

I would try java fern. When kept in tanks with a lot of light they tend to grow quit large. I’m also pretty sure that it’s one of the only plants that herbivores do not readily eat. It is a slow grower though..

Your best bet would be to get some nice silk plants like these . I have a few in my planted tank and I tell ya to the untrained eye they couldn’t look more realistic.

I second java fern....even a goldfish won't touch them. It is a slow grower like dotty mentioned, it'll be worth it to get larger ones if your LFS carries them...java fern is tied to a rock or piece of driftwood and left to root itself, it does not like to be burried in the substrate.
If you have CO2 set up on your tanks it'll help it grow faster.

Good because those are some of my favs anyway and I have a bunch in my 20 right now. I just need a Co2 thing to make them grow faSTER! They are slow. I want them to "muliply and replenish" my tank

Even with CO2 it's going to take quite awhile for them to fully "replenish" your tank ...they will multiply, each leaf producing alot of baby plantlets...it just takes them ages to grow up [/nagging mom voice].
