Tell them that they will kill their fish, that a goldfish won't be able to turn around in a tank that size, a angelfish will be dragging its fins on the ground, if the betta doesn't decide to nip everyones fins off, that the panda cory and tetra may be scared/lonely, and when they die the fiddler crab will eat em all up!

You've already told her and she decided not to listen to you. So hopefully when her fish start dying off or being eaten she will change her mind and ask for your help and advice since you've pointed out to her that you know about fish. But until she asks you then there is nothing else you can do... except pray that she comes to her senses soon. Although you might want to perhaps think about your tone of voice when telling other people about fish-keeping... sometimes people get offended when others tell them what to do, so they will deliberately do the wrong thing just so it's their decision.

HTH,
Beth

Agreed.

Most of the employees at large pet retailers, while not completely oblivious, know very little on the proper caretaking of aquariums. Some more so than others. But those that hire teenagers are more obvious...

Its a sad fact and thats why I choose to shop at a small and knowledgable LFS.

May I suggest you say nothing.

Your problem is not uncommon. It seems that may LFS's aren't responsible when it comes to selling fish and do not take the necessary precautions when selling fish.

The only way is the hard way, lets hope she learns from the experience
