I'd like to add something, but I don't know what. I had gouramis before, and I don't really like them. I was thinking maybe loaches of some sort, or corys. Maybe upside-down catfish? Though, it might be nice to have a feature fish. The tank isn't very well planted right now; blue-green algae took over for a while. I'll have that sorted out soon though, then I'd like to get it fairly full of plants again. |

I would get some panda cories if i was you they stay small are playful and fairly active. I would also encourage you to plant you tank as plants add a lot of varity. ![]() |

Or a small group of loaches...I think the weather loaches look cool ^.^ Yah, you do need a centerpeice fish...Hmmm... What about an angel? (just one though) You could also fit another school of some type of tetras...I personally like the look of cardnal tetras ![]() |

I'm definitely planning of replanting the tank, and I'm hoping to invest in a (cheap) CO2 system, though I suppose I could try and build one. Again. Third time's a charm, so they say. I'll try to find an LFS that'll take the H&T's back for me. I believe that weather loaches get too large for a 30 gallon. And I think an angel would be cramped too. Thanks for the suggestions so far; please keep them coming! |

Does a shoal of around 6-8 sound good to everyone? Can anyone forsee any problems between them and the BN? |
MegTheFish![]() Banned Posts: 167 Votes: 1 Registered: 03-Aug-2004 ![]() | Yes, I see what you mean about the weather loach. It grows to almost 10". Just having 1 would be fine but they like to be in groups. I don't think an angel would be cramped in there. If you had some larger fish that stayed near the top then an angel would be cramped, but since you only have the tetras and the BN you should be fine. |
MegTheFish![]() Banned Posts: 167 Votes: 1 Registered: 03-Aug-2004 ![]() | Since the Brochis Splendens grow to about 3" they should be fine in a group of 6. BN are rather peacefull and I'm thinking the Brochis Splendens are too, so I don't see any problems that could occur. P.S. I wouldn't add an angel if you go with the Brochis though, because if you get 6 of them (the brochis) then that would equal about 18" already. |

It is a BN as it's exactly the same as a normal BN but with no bristles. I just think it may be a certain species of BN or something. Also female BN's generally have bristles as well. The bristles are never as big as the males bristles though. i also would'nt recommend the weather loach as they grow far to big for a 30g. I difiantly think you should add some cories to your setup. A school of 6-7 pandas would be good as they stay small. For a centre peice fish i highly recommend a Red sunset gourami or two. They only grow to about 6cm and have great colour. They are considered fairly hard to keep as they can be a bit sensitive to water though. A pair of dwarf Gouramis would also be a great centre peice fish. They also stay small and only grow to about 5cm. Last edited by PJ at 14-Dec-2004 20:26 |

A nice pair of sharp looking tuxedo angels would do well. With a pair of angels however, you would like to have plants to divide territories, incase you end up with the same gender. |
