Hi everyone!

I recently decided to get 6 pairs of white cloud minnows. Yesterday when I was looking into the tank, I noticed a few very very small transparent tadpole looking thing stuck on the tank glass and occasionally swimming in the tank. They are around 2mm in length. I was wondering whether they are White cloud fry! I was totally surprised because I have only had them for a week and have not seen them lay any eggs. In fact, I don't even know how white cloud eggs look like! Can anyone tell me? Do you think that these are indeed white cloud minnow fry?

Anyway, I bought some tetra baby fish food for the fry. I don't know how much I am supposed to feed them and how often. Also, every time I put a bit of the tetra baby fish food, the adult white cloud minnow comes and seem to be eating it all! How should I go about feeding them?

Any other general info regarding how to succesfully look after these babies wille be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think it may be too late, I haven't seen any further wcmm fry swimming around the tank I still have a glimmer of hope. I really would appreciate if someone could help out and respond to my questions.

Thanks!

They definitley sound like fry! You are very lucky you were so sucessful! They usually hang around on the walls of the tank for support until they feel brave enough to venture out. They need to be taken out of the main tank and moved to a smaller tank or they will surely be eaten. Feed them with infusiora or liquid fry food for egglayers. Congratulations!
here is a link that i found:

Thanks Hookter for your reply!

I know its hard to see wcmm eggs as they are egglayers, but do you happen to know what they look like (ie- colour, shape and size)? I want to keep an look out for them in case they decide to spawn in the tank again.

Unfortunately I have lost all the fry and am sad.. Consolation is that I must have been doing something right for them to spawn in the first place right? I hope that I learnt from this lesson and would successfully look after a fry one day.

Just another quick question. I really have problems transfering the wcmm fry out of the main tank, as I don't have a spare tank nor I have the space for another tank. Is it an absolute must that the parents are separated from the fry? Also I was using Tetramin baby fish food (powder like) to feed the fry but feel that even these were way too big for them. They really were tiny! Would liquifry be superior / better to feed the fry with?

Thanks!
