I noticed this am a small glob of white stuff stuck to the side of my tank at the bottom on the gravel. I currently have a sick dwarf gourami (see my post in the hospital forum), don't know if either things are related and just coincidental. I have 2 dwarf gouramis, 3 honey gouramis, 4 blood fin tetras, 3 painted tetras and an otto in my tank. Any thoughts on what the white glob is? eggs??

Tetras are egg scatterers so the eggs wouldn't be in a glob, gouramis keep their eggs in a bubble nest and gaurd them, and otos lay their oval eggs in a line. Sounds more like snail eggs.

I don't have any snails so its not that, maybe its some sort of fungus? I'm going to clean it off as I'm cleaning the tank today anyway. BTW, my dwarf gourami died yesterday, I guess I shouldn't be too sad, its my first fish to die in the 8 months since I started this hobby.

one fish in eight months? You have got to be doing something RIGHT! Congrats. Sometimes Snails are VERY hard to find. I put a couple in my tank for my GF and we almost never saw them. My first thought was snails when I read the post. Now they are all gone, as my Rainbows ate them, but I think it is probably fungus, if you have a magnifying glass it wouldn't hurt to look at it under that, you might be able to tell if its eggs or not.
