I had an angel, gourami, and lace cat in the same tank for months and everyone got along fine. Then I noticed the lace cat relentlessy chasing the angel and the angel and gourami picking at each other. I ended up having to move the cat and gourami as the poor angel was getting torn fins. |

I ask because when you re-arrange just about anything inside a fish tank, or for that matter, sometimes even outside the tank, anything to chance the atmosphere, the social order is undone, completely. It could be that the angel is now in charge. That's one possibility, but I don't think I've ever seen fish just "change their minds" about each other. There is always some sort of reason, even if you don't see it right away. If it persists, and you're worried that the gouramis may be getting hurt or disturbed, just remove them from the tank, or for that matter, remove the angel. Actually, come to think of it, you could use the principal I just talked about to re-establish the heirarchy within the tank. take all the fish out, and move the decorations around. Once that's done, acclimate the fish, gouramis first, and see what that does, if nothing else, it'll brighten up your aquarium. -good luck, and I hope it works out for you. -tankster |
