Saulosi (1 male, 3 females) to a larger tank. I had known that about 1 1/2 months ago, 2 of the females appeared to be brooding, their mouths looked full, and bulging. About 3 weeks after that, I noticed that they no longer had the appearance of brooding (I figured they ate the eggs/babies because this was their first attempt). About 4 days after I moved the fish, I have noticed that there are 4 baby fish (and still looking for more) swimming around that now empty tank, that I haven't been feeding or anything. I am pretty excited by this wild discovery, and amazed that I was actually able to get my fish to breed. So, I suppose now I will have to start feeding them, now that I have noticed them, I ground up some small spirulina algae flakes so that they could eat them, and I see them eating away. |
