I could never intentionally kill something because it was an inconvenience to me... get off your butt and take it elsewhere, the LFS, a friend with a spare tank, etc. But don't just kill it. And, as someone else said, have you actually seen it kill the other fish??

I would take it to a lfs and give it to them if you can't find anything to take care of it...

What answer do you really expect to get on this board?

The least you can do is just give it away to your LFS.

Yup... No point in making a perfectly healthy fish die.

I vote for : ***return it to the shop***

You must have gotten it from somewhere. Well, where ever that is take it back. Yes you will be out of pocket for whatever it cost you to buy it and feed it since then. But you will lose more in replacing stock in the long run if it stays in your tank.

Phone them first so they know you are coming in and you don't catch it for no reason and have it upset for no reason if they won't take it (but most reputable places will take it back)

About the the "that hurt me deep inside comment", that was unnecessary. We all try and help eachother around here. Advice is given usually in generous spirit and should be accepted in much the same vein.

I am assuming you are quite young from your posts but it isn't always easy to tell online so be aware that people may not always make excuses for age or inexperience. If you are not careful you may get flamed.

I bet you have a chinese algae eater (cae). Look up in bottom feeders to here soom horror stories. I have my own to tell you. It was my first algae eater and he did a good job at cleaning my 29. but he just kept getting bigger. He got to 6inches. He beat the liveing "crap" out of my 12 in fire eel. He killed him. YOU need to give to the store as a donation cause it will only get worse. ANd if you need any more algae eaters get ottos but make sure you have enough algae to keep them alive.

I'm an animal lover and it's hard for me to kill a fish when I don't have to. So, I would take it back to the LFS and exchange it or if it really didn't cost you anything, just give it away to a friend(even if it is hard).

i have had an unknown algea eater for about 4 months, well i have realized that when ever i add any new fish to the tank it just likes messing around with it and getting some nips of thier tails ,so today i found my newly added male guppy dead on the surface.and my 7 month old white skirt has a piece bitten of its mouth, and im sure this algea eater is to blame cuz my tank inhabitants are : 2 white skirts ,1 guppy ,5 platys,1 common plec and that algea eater! and these fish can never hurt others.

What sort of algae eater is it you're blaming the deaths on? The last time I overheard someone blaming multiple fish deaths on a single fish, it was in an overstocked, uncycled tank...their fish were dying from ammonia/nitrite poisoning and the fish blamed for it was only scavenging the dead fish.
