i dont think u really need to add a light in the tank if ure not keeping anything else in there...and as long as the temp is maintained aroung 78 degrees u may not need a heater...if u have the light already then go ahead and use that to maintain the temp in the tank...i used to house some in a 5.5g with no filter, no heater, just a light and an airstone...the light acts as a good enough heater and keeps the plants growing well to provide the filtration i need for that tank...i just had frogs and ghost shrimp in there and they got along fine in there...i just moved my frogs to my 55g planted recently so i can watch their antics easier with a better view

When you say it would fry your fish do you mean that you are going to have fish in there? If you are then I would suggest a betta and have only 1 adf . If there are going to be no fish then 2 should be ok in the 2g. tank.

Wal-Mart carries a small heater, it's called a junior or something similar. I don't have the paperwork on it anymore but I believe it's for tanks up to 5g. I have 2 small tanks running without heaters, I keep one of these on hand for emergencies. What I don't like about it is that there's no adjustment, it's basically on & off so you have to keep an eye on the temp in the tank.

I have a 5.5g unheater with a hob filter...it's home to some misc small fish I've rescued. One ADF also lives in that tank with no problems due to lack of a heater or light.

Good luck.

since its gonna b such a small tank, changes in params can be dramatic so i would do water changes prob at least twice a week...if u have a good filter and u only keep the two frogs then u may b able to get away with once a week..just monitor your levels and c how often it needs to b done...as for food, my ADFs will eat anything...anything that sinks anyways...used to b tetracolor granules but currently out of it so it's been shrimp pellets or frozen bloodworms

I do water changes in mine once a week.

My ADF will eat anything the other fish are fed. Has a particular fondness for live foods and frozen worms.
