Does anyone know if there is an airpump that exists that is actually quiet? So far in my experiences with them they are simply too loud to let run all the time. There must be another way...

I have a rena air pump and it runs continually...it's in the cabinet under the tank and it's really quiet, I never really notice it.

I agree...go with Rena, and put it on a neoprene mouse pad...almost silent.

I think the noise differs on what you put it on. I had mine on a wooden table next to the tank and it made alot of noise. After i moved it onto a softer area it was quiet.

What you can do is to get a piece of sponge slightly bigger than your air pump and cut out a shape such that you can place it within the sponge.

This helps to reduce the noise from the vibrations. Cheers.

Some pumps come with a loop on the base, I put string thru that and hang it from the side of the tank stand. No vibration noise because it's not sitting on a surface. Just an idea.

Mine sits on the carpeted floor behind the tank - more noise from the bubbles it makes in the tank than the pump.
