Don't feed too much bbs, if over fed it causes swim bladder disorder

congrats on fry!

IME I have seen betta fry begin to show their color and finnage at 1.5 weeks. I am friends with a pretty successful lfs owner who breeds veiltails, but I am into HMs/SDs

Start watching them for coloration to appear. What are you going to feed them once their yolk sacks are depleted?

do you have to have the sponge filter right away or could you add it in say a week or two (after they spawn)?
just wondering

seed some filter wool.

those sponge filters have a central tube that lets the air go thru, you can attach the airline tubing further down and add seeded filter wool until the sponge part is seeded

ive seeded a small filter before using another tank, only takes a week

well, get on it ASAP, but it should be ok.

What type are you getting? is there a way to seed the media while the thing is on order?

yes there are none available locally and i have to order one in so it would be at least a week probably til it gets here then i would want to seed it in an established tank to get the good bacteria
would that be too long if they spawned in the next couple days?

thanks

Don't put it in straught away in a breeding tank, it will blow the bubblenest away!

get a sponge filter and some sort of flow restricting valve so you can set low for a few days, and gradually increase.

Why do you ask? are you having trouble finding one?
